Hire Terms and Conditions

Hiring

  • Prices (subject to change anytime) and are based on a 2 day (Saturday-Monday). Bond is required. Bonds range from $50 – $300 cash (depending upon the costume) or credit card imprint. (Please note that a few special costumes attract a higher hire rate and higher cash bond.)
  • Failure to return costume on due day will require extra payment of $10-$50 per day until returned. All costumes are the property of Costume Closet Ipswich and failure to return will result in a police report to be filled.
  • A booking deposit of $10.00 per costume is required on all bookings made more than a 2 weeks in advance. The booking deposit is subtracted from the hire price when the costume is collected. The booking deposit is non-refundable. Should the booking be cancelled at any time or the costume not collected, the booking deposit is forfeited. The booking deposit is non-transferable to other customers or for retail purchases should the booking be cancelled or not collected. Should Costume Closet Ipswich cancel the booking for any reason, the booking fee will be refunded in full. These conditions take effect immediately the booking is made.
  • All hires are final once costumes have been collected. Should customers wish to swap their costumes for any reason after collection, a $10.00 re-stocking fee will be applied
  • Current photo identification (eg: Qld drivers licence) with current address is required when collecting costumes. Hire will not be permitted without id.

General Hire Conditions

  1. Customer will be responsible for the cost of any special cleaning required as a result of any staining or damaging mark caused to the costume after the hire has commenced.
  2. If customer does not return the costume on the required date then customer will be responsible to pay a late charge of $10.00-$50.00 per day per costume until such time as the costume is returned.
  3. If the costume is returned damaged or incomplete, the customer agrees to pay the cost of repair or replacement of the costume as is necessary. This payment after deduction of any amount held as security must be made within seven days of receiving the invoice for the repair or replacement. It is agreed that the invoice has been received if it is sent by ordinary post to the address on the hire form. If the payment is not made within seven days, then the customer agrees to pay interest at the rate of 12% per annum until the payment is received.
  4. Customer agrees that any special cleaning costs, any late charge and/or the replacement cost of the costume can be charge to customer’s credit card or deducted from the security deposit.
  5. Customer acknowledges that if the costume is not returned then the customer can be reported to the Police and prosecuted for theft of the costume.
  6. The customer indemnifies the owner in respect of any injury or legal expense arising out of any accident which may be caused by use of the costumes whilst in the customer’s custody.
